Scenario: While getting assessed for my mid-term grade with much of my work consisting of personal information, and also after laying much of my life out for my philosophy instructor who also has holistic therapy qualifications...
Mr. Bishop: Can I ask you a man to man question?
Me: Yes, go ahead.
Mr. Bishop: Do you really love yourself? Are you happy with who you are?
Me: Um, well, I...
Mr. Bishop: Because you know the key to happiness is truly loving yourself.
Normally this dramatic statement would seem silly, but, in this context it wasn't.
The vulnerability I felt was immense. I got uncomfortable with my life. Have you experienced a time where it's as though someone is looking straight into your soul, and capable of KNOWING you, really KNOWING you in the most bare naked way (physically and mentally)? Well that's how I felt for the first time in my life, and it felt wonderful.
If this wasn't assurance of what I know I need to do in my life then I don't know what is.
